Bridge Projects | A contemporary art consortium presenting exhibitions and programs on art history, spirituality and religion.
About Us
Bridge Projects is a curatorial project featuring experimental, research-driven exhibitions by local and international artists. Each exhibition project includes a series of parallel public events – lectures, workshops, performances, salons, conferences, community programs, etc. – in which we gather prominent scholars and artists to help situate these exhibitions within broader art-historical, philosophical, and religious contexts. Our programming is especially aimed at fostering more advanced and more open interdisciplinary explorations of the relations between contemporary art, spirituality, and religious traditions.

Our History
Bridge Projects was launched in 2017 with a series of LA-based salons and studio events hosted by founding directors Cara Megan Lewis and Linnéa Spransy, engaging a diverse community of artists, scholars, and collectors. A recurring interest throughout these conversations had been a perceived need to think more carefully and creatively about the ongoing relations between contemporary art, spirituality, and religion. These projects had been particularly focused on Los Angeles, recognizing the rich, complex histories of this global cultural center that include both vibrant artist and religious communities. Bridge Projects opened its first home in Hollywood in October 2019 to create space for exploring questions at the interfacing of these communities, addressing the ways contemporary art continues to engage the lineages of religious thought and tradition. After three years of exhibitions, Bridge Projects closed its brick and mortar space in July 2022. Through collaborations with partner galleries and museums, curators and scholars, Bridge is hopeful that the work of curating and convening audiences at the intersection of contemporary art, spirituality, and religious traditions will continue to take root and bear fruit.
